T-BONE Returns, with a sun tan and a kilo of smack

only kidding, well about the last bit, but I will be back in the UK to bring my musical theatre show ‘From T-Bone To Trucks’ to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

It will be an expanded version bringing in more artists like Jimmie Vaughan, Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Collins and Robert Cray as well as all the other great players we had last time round.

Due to it being a sold out run we’re putting it on in a bigger venue, a better stage and sound system, in Stramash in the Cowgate, central location for all your Fringe needs!

It’s on Sunday 4th, 11th and 18th in August from 1pm – 2:40pm, tickets will be on the website from the Fringe website shortly. https://www.edfringe.com/ See us perform the show in the studio here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rly2d5wG2WA&list=PLmzAlvJSbFJLUfQjgnNkqHBAMUghOaCOT

Also I’ll be bringing an all new show to the Fringe called ‘Fingers and Thumbs’ where I’ll be exploring various stringed instruments like the Ukulele, Classical, Cigar Box and National Steel guitars among other things. That’s in artSpace@StMarks Saturday 3rd, 10th and 17th Aug 8:30pm – 9:45pm. I recorded a series of videos for these which will be on the YouTube channel soon but in the meantime you can hear the audio here. https://soundcloud.com/andygunnmusic/sets/fingers-and-thumbs-2019  Tickets from the main website https://www.edfringe.com/

In addition to this I’ll be getting steaming in Dropkick Murphy’s on the Guinness and Jamiesons and pure battering in aboot all the poontang in a series of free acoustic shows 4,5,6,7,8th, 11,12,13,14,15th, 18,19,20,21,22nd of Aug 10:30pm-11:30pm, basically Sunday to Thursday until the 22nd. I’ll be inviting various musicians down to jam and get the craic so mondoon! These shows are called Andy Gunn Acoustic: WhasHappenin’ Edinburgo?! and are on a donation basis so I can afford my flight back to the olive farm.

Other than that it’s all good, just being a normal human being doing the things that normal human beings do with the normal range of human emotions. God bless, hope Brexit’s going well x

Highlight Reel

So here’s a condensed video of our musical theatre show ‘From T-Bone To Trucks’ from last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Despite all the challenges we managed to create a great show and capture some cool footage shown in the video below, amazing really considering we only had ten minutes to set the whole band and film crew up, insane but that’s the fringe for you!

We’re working on an expanded version for this year, performing less shows but in a bigger venue, Stramash in the Cowgate 4th, 11th and 18th Aug 1pm. Really looking forward to it, it was a labour of love and funded by disability benefits but I couldn’t think of anything better to spend them on!

Hope you enjoy our ode to the masters of electric blues guitar (and one of my own songs to show you how I’ve tried to absorb these influences and find my own voice within this music)…

AND RELAX…!

Well that’s the Fringe by and I’m so chuffed as the T-Bone show, turned out to be a real success, the whole weeks run was SOLD OUT! I can hardly believe it myself..
So, I’d like to thank here everyone that came to see us, those that worked so hard on it, the musicians, Aimee our visuals and marketing person and all the friends who pitched in and did whatever it took to make the show happen. It was a lot of work but totally worth it, it was our homage to all the greats that have inspired us and lit a fire in the world of music, The blues had a baby and they named it Rock ‘n’ Roll!
Some of the reviews left were like these –

A fantastic show! Andy’s natural ability on guitar absolutely nails all the Guitarists He’s tipping His hat to 100%!! – Definitely A “MUST SEE” – You won’t be disappointed, 10/10 from Me!

We’ve actually run out of superlatives, what can I say that hasn’t been said previously? Andy is a consummate blues man, living and breathing the Blues. It runs through his veins. His ability to play in the styles of the legends is matched by his own musical and composing talents. If you get the chance then go listen to Andy…you’ll come away feeling uplifted, smiling, overawed and wanting more. Brilliant!

So, we’re definitely looking to take this show on the road and if anyone knows any bookers, send them this way! We’re working on a highlight reel of the show which should be ready any day, watch this space ..

In other news, the Gunndog has a new album in pipeline, something different, still bluesy but much more open, experimental and singer songwriter based.. exciting times ahead, thank you all for your support x

From T-Bone To Trucks

well, we’ve been super busy working hard putting this musical show together for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018. It’s my tribute to all my musical heroes of electric blues guitar featuring an 8 piece band, narrator and a film to be projected behind us, so all in all it’s going to be a really special run of shows!

Recently we went into a studio in Edinburgh and with a film crew, recorded the entire show. There’s a playlist of it here.

Or have a sneak peak at my personal favourite, the Jimi Hendrix part of it.. If you’re in Edinburgh come along (tickets here), or subscribe to the channel, to be notified when the videos of the show are posted later on..

Such a cool thing to be part of!

Endorsement Deals!

Hi

so, good news from AG HQ, I’ve just agreed some endorsement deals with Duesenberg Guitars, playing one of their Starplayer TV Phonic guitars, they’re awesome, smooth and soulful when clean and crunchy and vibey when overdriven.. they sound great and I can’t wait to let you hear them on the upcoming tour dates and future recordings I’ve got planned.

I also, signed a deal with St Blues Guitars in Memphis, who make amongst other things, these really cool Cigar Box guitars.. you can actually do so much with them, even with only 4 strings.. and I’m looking forward to playing this also on these gigs..

you can hear me try it out for the first time here!
